I purchased a wireless CCTV system on the basis that I already had a good wireless LAN covering the area of interest. The WS300 kit was reasonably priced and my order included eight cameras. My plan was to integrate these cameras and NVR into the existing LAN However the WS300 does not allow for this. There is no option to configure the cameras to connect to an existing LAN. This in my view was a major limitation because in my case the existing wireless LAN is quite complex with several wireless AP's. That said the cameras do allow for a proprietary 'repeater' configuration such that if a camera is not able to connect directly to the wireless NVR (which is where it must connect to) because of signal issues, then an intermediate camera can act as a repeater. This constraint was not evident in the system spec or marketing material and I think this should be made clear to purchasers of this kit. The other option is hard wired ethernet LAN between camera and NVR. These options again are not obvious in the user instructions which are poor to say the least.

On the positive side cameras are easy to add to the system and in terms of picture quality are good, coping with all light levels well. however the plug top power supply must be plugged in indoors with the cable through the wall into a waterproof adaptable box where the power and lan connectors must be interfaced to.
